It is a ceiling hung below the structural ceiling for room acoustics and aesthetics, where tiles and panels are housed in the ceiling grid. An acoustical ceiling grid has various benefits that include controlling sound, which is measured by the Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC). High-performance acoustic panels from Saintec offer the NRC needed to create healthy acoustic environments. Ceiling tile grid systems also hide various building systems while still allowing access for maintenance.
Ceiling grids used with tiles and panels are a cost-effective ceiling solution. Contact us to speak with a Saintec representative to learn more about suspended ceiling cost.
Depending on the grid product Saintec ceiling grids can be used in interior & exterior applications. Review the datasheet for specific products to determine exact application areas.
Before installing tiles into a grid system, always ensure your installation is square and all components are installed correctly. Questions? Contact our technical services team and a Saintec team member will address your questions.
Prepare the perimeter
First install the ‘L’ shaped edge moulding/perimeter corners around the room. This ensures a neat finish around the edge of the commercial ceiling.
Fix the main rail
Next, fix the main rail/main tee (3600mm) into the edge moulding to form the main part of the grid.
Fix the hanging wire
Fix the main rail to the top fixing (raw ceiling) using hanging wire (galvanised wire) ensuring it is level and securely fastened.
Install the cross tees
Fix the cross tees (1200mm) perpendicular to their length to the main keel. These create the main support structure for the tiles. Ensure they are evenly spaced and securely fastened for stability.
Fit the 600mm cross tees
Finally, insert the cross tees (600mm) into the previously installed cross tees (1200mm) leaving a gap where the ceiling tiles will be installed.
